Key Responsibilities

  • Review and organize Prescriber Evaluation Referral Forms (PERF), gather internal and external prescribing data, and coordinate prescriber and patient mailings within specific time frames.
  • Create and release COMPASS and RHM communications, and generate ad hoc reports for the prescriber assessment team.
  • Assist in displays to the Integrity and Patient Safety teams and support the Good Faith Dispensing policy administration.
  • Research and analyze managed substance orders placed manually at the store level, determining if orders are suspicious based on ordering patterns and circumstances.
  • Generate reports and provide data to DEA dealers on store dispensing patterns, prescriber or patient profiles within a 48-hour window.
  • Build ad hoc queries to pull data outside of regular reporting requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge about issues such as managed substance ordering procedures, GFD policies, and DEA licensing requirements.
  • Assist stores and field supervision with questions via email and phone on various related topics.
  • Collaborate with analysts in developing and reviewing store audits for managed substance losses and work with Pharmacy Managers and Supervisors to ensure losses are reported within the required time frame and with 100% accuracy.
  • Manage the prescriber price quote decision system, validate and update prescriber data, and collaborate with Pharmacists to ensure prescription blocking is legitimate.
  • Research and analyze requests for increases to managed substance allocations, making informed decisions based on collaboration with Pharmacy Managers, Supervisors, and object vendors.
  • Assist in the implementation and updating of the Good Faith Dispensing and Target Drug Good Faith Dispensing policies.
  • Utilize skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and database querying to help analysts create presentations and training for store teams and supervision.

Essential Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • At least three years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Certifications and Skills

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification granted by PTCB.
  • Experience with prescriber licensing requirements (NPI, DEA, and state licenses).
  • Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with database querying.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with internal Walgreens systems, including SIMS and IC+.
  • Knowledge of managed substance ordering procedures within Walgreens (PDQ's, RxQuick Order, and Passport).
